For a mere $249 at the Good Guys until Monday you can scoop up the 10.1in Acer Iconia Tab A500 (16GB), the best tablet bargain this year by a wide margin. This still remains one of the best Android 10.1in tablets, with great speakers, solid build quality and with a variety of ports (including full-sized USB 2.0). The A500 is wireless only, but the 3G model, the A501 has also had its price slashed and is $339.

The A500 has the latest current version of Android, 3.2, which looks great on the 10.1in (1,280x800 resolution) capacitive screen. One feature worth noting is the Micro SD slot, which let you expand the 16GB of standard onboard storage. The Iconia is a bit heavier than most tablets at 765 grams, but that’s still easily light enough to make it very portable.

In essence, the A500 has every feature a good tablet should have, including front and rear cameras, an in-built microphone along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Joining the full-sized USB 2.0 port mentioned earlier is a Micro USB 2.0 port and a Micro HDMI port, so the physical connectivity options of the A500 are among the best of any tablet.
