For just $399, the ASUS Eee PC 1005P is what you want in an entry level netbook. It has an Intel Atom N450 processor, the fastest processor you’ll find in a netbook. Similarly the 250GB hard drive is as big as you’ll find outside of a notebook. It importantly also has Windows 7 Starter, a far superior operating system to the now very old Windows XP.
Everything else about this netbook is what you’d expect; 1GB of RAM, onboard graphics, a 10.1in (1024x600) screen. Don’t plan on any gaming or video editing, but low level general computing won’t be an issue. It also has the classic netbook slightness, weighing just 1.27kg and measuring 262 x 178 x 37 mm. If you need a basic netbook with up to date specs, do yourself a favour and get this one.
