The deal: ASUS K50IP-SX068V - dedicated graphics under $800 - $742.00
Dedicated graphics cards show a notebook is becoming serious, and at $742 the ASUS K50IP-SX068V is not bad at all. Although the Intel Pentium Dual Core T4500 is an older CPU, it still carries it’s weight. The same can be said about the NVIDIA GeForce G205M graphics card, just don’t expect to play any modern games with it. A 320GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, and 15.6in (1366x768) screen are average but still decent.
The CPU could certainly be better, especially given that Intel Core i3 CPUs are appearing in lower price brackets. It’s not exactly svelte either, weighing 2.6kg and measuring 370x256x35.5 mm. This isn’t a powerhouse, but it’s still a fair deal for a low end allrounder with discrete graphics.
