The 14in ASUS X44H-VX026V is a gutsy low-end basic notebook that’s a bargain for $499. It’d already be good value to have a 2nd Gen Intel Core i3 in a notebook at this price, but there’s also 4GB of RAM to ensure that more than one program will run well at once. The 14in screen is a bit smaller than average, but the end result is that the X44H is also lighter than the alternatives at 2.44kg, which is handy if you need to carry this notebook around with you.
