The deal: Dell Inspiron 15R - reasonably priced basic notebook - $899.00
The base model Dell Inspiron 15R sells online for $899, and even without upgrades it’s a fairly priced notebook. The Intel Core i3-350M is a mid-range Intel Core i3 processor, so it’s among the faster processors available. While it doesn’t normally have a graphics processor, for an extra $100 you can get an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. It’s a low-end offering, but you’ll still run games like Modern Warfare 2 on low settings.
Overall the specs here are respectable; a 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, and a 15.6in (1366x768 resolution) screen. At 2.63kg it’s far from light, but that’s within reason for this kind of notebook. The same can be said for the physical measurements; 376mm width, 262mm depth, and 34mm thickness. Specials come and go, but if you need a decently potent notebook than this one will always be a solid option.
