For $1,196 the HP Pavilion dv6-3079tx available online only at Clive Peeters is one of the best bargains you’re likely to see. It has a very fast Intel Core i7-720QM (1.6GHz) processor that can play HD movies, edit videos, or run several resource intensive programs at once. The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card along with 4GB of RAM can easily run modern games like StarCraft 2 on medium settings. This combination doesn't normally start appearing until at least the $1,400 mark, as both the processor and graphics card are very good.

The other specs are also solid, including a 500GB hard drive that provides a large amount of storage for movies, photos, or programs. A 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) is very typical for allrounders, but it strikes a good balance between size and portability. It weighs 2.49kg and measures 378mm wide, 245mm deep, and 36mm thick.

This is an exceptionally good bargain for a very good product. There are no compromises with the specs, and at $1,196 this is the allrounder notebook to get if you’re in the market for one. The only downside is that it’s online only via Clive Peeters, but at this price it’s a small hurdle for truly great value.
