At just $1199, the HP dv6-2114TX is a bargain priced fully functional entertainment notebook. At this price Blu-Ray readers are very rare, and to have one along with a TV tuner is more or less unheard of. These entertainment components are well supported as well. Key here is the Intel Core i5-540M 2.53 MHz processor, one of the fastest processors it’s possible to find in a notebook. The NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M isn’t as good comparatively, but it’s still a solid offering from NVIDIA that will serve this notebook well.

A 640GB hard drive ensures you can store all the movies you’ll be watching. This is all topped off with 4GB of RAM and a 15.6in (1366x768 resolution) screen. While the screen won’t let you watch Blu-Ray movies in their native resolution (1920x1080), it’s still easily enough to fully enjoy them. Plus, the HDMI port lets you plug this notebook into a large modern TV with no difficulties at all.

It’s a bit chunky at 2.88kg, so portability is a bit low. When you take into consideration the 378.5mm width, 258mm depth, and 41mm thickness, it’s likely this notebook will mostly stay at home. This is a real bargain, and there’s no reason not to get one if you crave entertainment.
