The HP Pavilion dv6-3080TX is a complete entertainment notebook for $1722. It has a Blu-Ray reader and an external USB TV tuner, so it covers all bases for entertainment functionality. The fast Intel Core i7-720QM (1.6GHz) processor ensures you’ll be putting the Blu-Ray reader to good use, and it’s also powerful enough to easily let you edit videos, manage photo archives, and other high intensity computing. Gaming is also definitely possible due to the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, which has enough muscle to run games like Mafia 2 on high settings.
Otherwise the specs are generally great, including a colossal 8GB of RAM and large 640GB hard drive. The only disappointment here is the 15.6in (1366x768 resolution). While it’s still HD resolution, you won’t be watching Blu-Ray movies at their native 1920x1080 resolution. It’s a bit heavy though at 2.795kg, although portability is still possible thanks to the average dimensions, specifically 378mm width, 245mm depth, and 35.7mm thickness. This is a mighty entertainment notebook, and the $1722 price tag is very reasonable for what’s being offered.
