Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13 - thin and light with decent specs

The deal: Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13 - thin and light with decent specs - $781.25

Added 14 July 2010

Sometimes nothing else will do but a thin and light notebook, and if that’s the case then for $781.25 the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13 is worth a close look. The AMD Athlon X2 L325 CPU is comparable to the better Intel Atom CPUs, and the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card is a bit weak. World of Warcraft or similar games will run on low settings, and basic general computing shouldn’t be an issue. A 320GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, and 13.3in (1366x768) screen are about what you’d expect at this price.

For a normal notebook these specs would be mediocre, but then we remember just how light this one is. It comes in at only 1.64kg and measures just 322x288x25; it’s thinner than most netbooks! Notebooks are meant to be portable, but this one really runs with the concept to deliver a good overall package. If you need portability, consider this one closely.
