The deal: Post Xmas Deals: Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi) - fully featured well-built tablet for an unusually brilliant price [VIC, TAS, WA] - $298.00
The 10.1in Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi) is a nicely built, slick performing Android Honeycomb 3.2 tablet that for $298(WA) or $299(VIC and TAS) is unbelievably good value for money. It's one of the better tablets currently available, with every feature you'd expect in a top tier tablet, including front and rear cameras, stereo speakers and good overall physical connectivity. The metal backing is reassuringly solid to the touch, although at 730 grams it's a bit heavier than most alternatives. This special is available at Victorian, Tasmanian and Western Australian Retravisions only.
The 10.1in (1,280x800 resolution) capacitive screen works fluidly, and the colour reproduction is rather good. There's no way to expand storage, but by tablet standards the included 32GB flash drive is still pretty generous. However, there is a Micro USB 2.0 port and a Micro HDMI port so connecting the Xoom to other devices won't pose much of a hassle.
One important note about the Xoom is that on Motorola's website there are announced plans to eventually upgrade the Xoom to use Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, ensuring that this bargain priced tablet will stay current for some time to come.
