Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi) - major price reduction on a superb Android tablet

The deal: Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi) - major price reduction on a superb Android tablet - $392.00

Added 13 December 2011

For only $392 at JB Hi-Fi the 10.1in Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi) is excellent value for money. The Xoom 2 may be on the way, but for such a low price the original is still worth close consideration. It’s sturdy in the hand, has good performance and the 32GB flash drive is double what you’d normally get in a tablet, especially at this low price.

The 10.1in (1,280x800 resolution) capacitive screen is responsive and looks good, and while the Xoom is one of the heavier tablets at 730 grams (vs iPad's 613 grams), the extra weight isn’t without purpose, because the Xoom has stereo speakers, front and rear cameras, a microphone and Micro USB 2.0 and Micro HDMI ports.

Currently the Xoom runs Android Honeycomb 3.2 (the latest version) and Motorola have stated that they plan to eventually upgrade to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 as well when that arrives. If you need a fully featured Android Honeycomb tablet with decent storage then the Xoom is pretty much ideal.
