The $1,243 MSI FX600 is an allrounder notebook with a Blu-ray reader and a HDMI port, which give it an entertainment flavour. Its 15.6in (1366x768 resolution) is HD rather than Full HD, but movies will still look great on it. If you want 1080p resolution, you can always connect this notebook to a full HD HDTV through its HDMI interface.

Its Intel Core i5-450M (2.4GHz) processor is very fast, so the notebook can run several programs at once and has the graphics power to easily handle the Blu-ray movies. The additional graphics processing from its discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M graphics card, along with 4GB of RAM, will let you play games like Modern Warfare 2 on low settings, so while it's not a gaming notebook, you can still play new gaming titles on it.

A 500GB hard drive is typical for this kind of notebook, but it’s still large enough to store lots of  videos. At 2.41kg the notebook is a touch lighter than average and the physical measurements are also on the smaller side: it’s 383mm wide, 249.2mm deep, and 38mm thick.

This notebook is a well priced and well balanced package, with a powerful processor and graphics card together with a Blu-ray reader. For $1,243 you really can’t go wrong here.
