For $893, the Samsung Rh40-JS01AU allrounder notebook has a lot to offer. The mid-range Intel Core i3-350M is handily faster than Intel Pentium and Intel Core 2 Duo processors, which puts it towards the front of the pack overall. While the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 is one of the low end offerings from ATI, older games like The Sims 3 are still playable up to medium settings. This power should be more than enough to watch HD movies and multitask with several programs.
While the 4GB of RAM is nice, the 320GB hard drive is on the small side. In the end sacrifices have to be made to get the price this low. The 15.6in (1366x768 resolution) screen is normal, but it’s good to see that Samsung haven’t compromised. The weight and measurements are roundly average. It weighs 2.5kg, measures 379.8mm wide, 255.5mm deep, and 36.2mm thick. This a very worthwhile notebook that’s well worth purchasing.
