For only $920.55 the 15.6in Samsung RC530-S08AU is a new allrounder from Samsung that has a very competitive set of specs for the price. Of note when compared to other 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 equipped alternatives is the RC530’s large 750GB hard disk drive. With the other strong specs, it makes this a good value-for-money package.
Powering the RC530 is a 2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz) processor, from Intel's most powerful family of CPUs, giving the RC530 the performance to easily run demanding programs.
For more serious graphics rendering there’s an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M dedicated graphics card, and it’ll have no problem running newer games like Portal 2 on high settings on the 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen. The RC530’s 2.6kg weight is a little above average compared to other notebooks with 15.6in screens, but it’s not a major issue.
