The deal: Samsung RF511 - very affordable Intel Core i7 allrounder - $899.00
The Samsung RF511-S04AU for $899 at WOW Sight and Sound is excellent value for money thanks both to its strong specs. It’s got an Intel Core i7, a potent mid-range dedicated graphics card and a price tag close to that of less powerful mid-range allrounders.
An Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz) processor is plenty for even intensive programs like HD video editors, but if more grunt is needed it ramps up to 2.9GHz by using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology. There’s also an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M dedicated graphics card that’s more than enough to run games like Call of Duty: Black Ops at high settings on the 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen.
Rounding out the specs is a spacious 640GB hard disk drive and 4GB of RAM, so despite being so affordable this allrounder hasn’t cut any corners. The Chiclet keyboard is also a nice touch, and it's pleasant to type on even if it's a change from the norm.
