The Toshiba Satellite A660/07T entertainment notebook is a fantastic bargain at $1199. It has both a Blu-ray reader to watch Blu-ray movies, and a TV tuner to watch or record TV. While the 16in screen is only 1366x768 resolution (Blu-ray is 1920x1080), you’ll still enjoy great visual quality. There’s a HDMI port as well so you can always connect the notebook to a HD TV.
Powering the experience is a fast Intel Core i5-450M (2.4GHz) processor which can run several programs at once and play HD movies. An NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card and 4GB of RAM give respectable gaming performance as well, and you’ll be able to play games like StarCraft 2 on medium to high settings.
A 640GB hard drive will store a lot of data, and for an entertainment notebook with a TV tuner that means you can record heaps of TV without worrying about space. All up the notebook weighs 2.62kg and measures 380.5mm wide, 254mm deep, and 35.6mm thick.
Overall the Toshiba Satellite A660/07T is a very good entertainment notebook, as it has the very important Blu-ray reader and TV tuner along with generally solid specs. For $1199 it’s superb value for money and well worth the purchase.
