For those considering an entertainment notebook, the Toshiba Qosmio F60/033 for $1,298 from Clive Peeters is incredibly good value for money. It has a Blu-ray burner, making it possible to watch Blu-ray movies or burn huge amounts of data to high capacity Blu-ray discs. The TV tuner lets the notebook itself receive and record TV, and while the screen is only 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) that that still plays 720p HD movies at basically native resolution. A 750GB hard drive ensures that plenty of TV can be recorded, and even large Blu-ray movie collections won’t fill it quickly.

Under the hood there’s a very fast Intel Core i7-740QM (1.73GHz) processor that will keep the Blu-ray burner and TV tuner working optimally while still being able to run lots of other applications at the same time. There’s also 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card that can play demanding games like Metro 2033 on low settings. Portability is moderate, as the Qosmio weighs 2.8kg, and measures 34.8mm thick, 266.8mm deep and 387.6mm wide.

For $1,298 the Toshiba Qosmio F60/033 has everything a great entertainment notebook should have, including a Blu-ray burner, a TV tuner, a large hard drive, and a fast processor. The price is abnormally low for what’s included , even by current Christmas bargain standards.
