The deal: Toshiba F60/033 - ludicrously cheap entertainment notebook - $1,294.00
The Toshiba Qosmio F60/033 for $1,294 is one of those amazing specials that redefines what’s possible in a price bracket. It has a Blu-Ray burner that lets you watch Blu-Ray movies and burn huge amounts of data to Blu-Ray discs, and a TV tuner that lets you record TV programs directly to your computer. There’s also an HDMI port that lets you connect to HDTVs. While the 15.6in screen is only 1366x768 resolution, it’s still a respectable inclusion.
Under the hood there’s a very fast Intel Core i7-740QM (1.73GHz) processor lets you easily play and edit HD movies and run several big applications at once. For gaming there’s an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M that can run new games like StarCraft 2 on medium settings.
Its 750GB hard drive is massive, so you can store lots of photos and videos without worrying about space. The 4GB of RAM complements the graphics card nicely, so you’re getting a superb, multi-functional high-performance notebook. It is heavy at 2.8kg, but thankfully the dimensions are more typical at 387.6mm wide, 266.8mm deep, and 34.8mm thick.
This is a brilliant notebook with great entertainment functionality thanks to the Blu-Ray burner and TV tuner, and the overall specs give you solid computing power. For $1,294 this is a spectacularly good bargain on a very well rounded notebook. Yes you can find really cheap notebooks for you - like yesterday's amazing $599 (with cashback) Core i5 -based Acer - but if you want a top-line, well-specced notebook at a great price, you can't go past this Toshiba.
