For only $277 ($228 after cashback) the 10.1in Toshiba NB500/03K is very good value for money for a high-end netbook. The Intel Atom N570 (1.66GHz) is actually pretty capable for a low-end processor, so despite the diminutive size you can still smoothly run productivity applications and the like. Although the hard disk drive is only 250GB, if you exercise some discipline it’ll still be largely sufficient for normal use. This deal is only available at Retravision stores in Victoria and Tasmania.

Processor
The NB500 has an Intel Atom N570 (1.66GHz) processor, which is one of the better low-end netbook processors available. It will handle simpler productivity applications comfortably.

Graphics
The NB500 comes with integrated/onboard graphics, which are sufficient for very casual gaming.

RAM
1GB of RAM is enough to run a couple of simple applications smoothly. Don’t expect to be able to do anything beyond light multi-tasking however.

Storage
A 250GB hard disk drive is small but should still be sufficient for programs, important documents and other files.

Screen
The 10.1in (1,024 x 600 resolution) screen is small, and anyone who is used to larger notebooks could struggle with the tiny screen real estate. The glossy screen also makes outdoor usage a bit of a struggle, but stay out of direct sunlight and you should be fine.

Portability
The NB500 has exceptional portability, because it weighs 1.32kg and is 36.4mm thick.  It’s more than light enough to be taken anywhere and barely be noticed.
