The Toshiba Qosmio F60/032 for $1796 is a fully featured entertainment notebook that’s good value when you consider what’s under the hood. It has both a Blu-Ray burner and a TV tuner, so all bases are covered for entertainment. The processor is a Intel Core i7-740QM (1.73GHz), which provides more than enough speed to watch HD movies and edit videos. It also has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M, which provides enough grunt to run games like Mafia 2 on high settings.
Overall specs are good in this notebook, as it comes with 4GB of RAM, a 640GB hard drive, and a 15.6in (1366x768 resolution) screen. It’s a shame it isn’t Blu-Ray (1920x1080) resolution, but it’s still enough to enjoy HD movies. All the bits and pieces do bring the weight to 2.8kg, which isn’t very portable. It is a bit smaller than average though, measuring 387.6mm wide, 266.8mm deep, and 34.8mm thick. While $1796 isn’t chicken feed, this notebook is powerful, versatile, and very good value for its capabilities.
