Toshiba Satellite L750 - mid-range all-rounder for a very low price

The deal: Toshiba Satellite L750 - mid-range all-rounder for a very low price - $637.00

Added 01 June 2012

For $637 the 15.6in Toshiba Satellite L750/0S5 is really affordable, because it’s a fully featured mid-range all-rounder. It wasn’t long ago that this kind of notebook would set you back around $800 on special, so it’s definitely a good bargain. What you get for your money is a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5, a decent mid-range NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M dedicated graphics card and a large 750GB hard disk drive. It’s a versatile jack-of-all-trades, that’s for sure.

See a summary of the specs below.

Processor
The L750 features a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2450M (2.5GHz), a mid-range processor that can handle productivity applications and most intensive software. It can burst up to 3.1GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.

Graphics
It comes with a dedicated graphics card called the NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M. It’s a mid-range card that can handle modern games at medium settings without any difficulties.

RAM
4GB of RAM is enough to run several programs at once smoothly. This will be sufficient for moderately intensive image and video editing tasks as well.

Storage
A large 750GB hard disk drive provides plenty of room for a reasonably large collection of files including movies and music.

Screen
The L750 sports a 15.6in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. The gloss screen should have better colour richness when compared to a matte screen, but the reflectiveness will make it a bit difficult to use in direct sunlight.

Portability
The L750 has average portability, because it weighs 2.6kg and is 37.5mm thick. It'll be straightforward to carry around.
