The deal: Toshiba Satellite L750 - powerful allrounder with bucketloads of RAM - $897.00
For $897 the 15.6in Toshiba Satellite L750/0L7 is a well-priced high-end allrounder that’s made some interesting trade-offs with the specs. It uses a slightly below average dedicated graphics card but it compensates by having an immense 8GB of RAM, twice as much as what you'd typically find in an allrounder notebook. This will appeal to those doing any intensive photo or video editing, because RAM is very important for that kind of task. There’s also a fast 2nd Gen Intel Core i7 as well, making this a slightly unusual but still very powerful allrounder.
Processor
The L750 features a 2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2670QM (2.2GHz), a high-end processor that can run intensive software and productivity applications without any difficulty. It can burst up to 3.1GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.
Graphics
It comes with a dedicated graphics card called the NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M. It’s a mid-range card that can handle modern games at medium settings without any difficulties.
RAM
8GB of RAM is enough to either run many programs at once fluidly or run very intensive image and video editing software.
Storage
A 640GB hard disk drive is large enough for important files along with plenty of programs and documents.
Screen
The L750 sports a 15.6in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. It’ll have better colours than an equivalent resolution matte screen, but the reflectiveness will make outdoor use somewhat tricky.
Portability
The L750 has average portability, because it weighs 2.6kg and is 37.5mm thick. It'll be straightforward (if a little heavy) to carry around.
