The deal: Toshiba Satellite L840 - ultraportable with graphics card fit for gaming - $598.00
For $598 the 14in Toshiba Satellite L840/02H is an affordable option for those wanting a combination of portability and gaming power. At 2.1kg it’s lighter than a typical all-rounder, but it’s crammed in an AMD Radeon HD 7670M. This is a strong mid-range graphics card that ought to have no problems running modern games at medium to high settings on the 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution screen. A 2nd Gen Intel Core i3 and 4GB of RAM complement the card nicely, ensuring that the L840’s capable of a variety of tasks apart from gaming.

See a summary of the specs below.
The L840 features a 2nd Gen Intel Core i3-2350M (2.2GHz), a fast entry-level processor which can smoothly run productivity applications and some intensive software.
It comes with a dedicated graphics card called the AMD Radeon HD 7670M. It’s a powerful mid-range card that should have no issue running most modern games at medium to high settings.
4GB of RAM is enough to run several programs at once smoothly. This will be sufficient for moderately intensive image and video editing tasks as well.
A 320GB hard disk drive is on the small side. It’ll still be enough to hold some media content along with important documents though.
The L840 sports a 14in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. The gloss screen should have better colour richness when compared to a matte screen, but the reflectiveness will make it a bit difficult to use in direct sunlight.
The L840 is more portable than average, because it weighs 2.1kg and is 32.5mm thick. Carrying it around won’t pose any difficulties.
