Notebook Hunter

For $695 the 15.6in Toshiba Satellite P750 02T is a real money's worth package. A mid-range allrounder that has a graphics card normally found in high-end allrounders, it also has a TV tuner that lets you watch and record TV. Its high-end specs will have you sorted for just about anything you’d want to do, from running productivity applications to gaming.

The processor powering the P750 is a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2410M (2.3GHz), a mid-range processor that distinguishes the P750 from high-end allrounders that tend to come with Intel Core i7s.  Add 4GB of RAM you get assured good system performance. A pleasant surprise given the price is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M dedicated graphics card, one of the better mid-range cards that’s capable of playing modern games at high settings on the 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen.

A 750GB hard disk drive is larger than those found even in more expensive alternatives. It weighs 2.6kg, an only slightly above average weight that ensures the P750 is still reasonably portable by allrounder notebook standards.
