Notebook Hunter

For $1,095 the 15.6in Toshiba Satellite P750/02Q is a very good bargain. It's one of very few 3D capable entertainment notebooks available, and it has specs equal to or better than alternatives that cost more and don't have 3D functionality. A Blu-ray burner is particularly noteworthy, because normally more affordable entertainment notebooks opt for a Blu-ray player instead. There's also a 2nd Gen Intel Core i7, 6GB of RAM and a strong mid-range dedicated graphics card so it's got the power needed for all kinds of intensive software, even modern games. Under normal circumstances entertainment notebooks like this go for around $1,799, making this one of the best boxing day specials we've seen so far.

Processor
The P750 features a 2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz), a high-end processor that is able to run intensive software and productivity applications without any difficulty. It can burst up to 2.9GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.

Graphics
The P750 comes with a dedicated graphics card: the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. It’s one of the better mid-range offerings from NVIDIA, and it will be able to handle most modern games at medium to high settings.

RAM
The P750 has 6GB of RAM, which is enough to run many programs at once smoothly.It’s more than enough to ensure fluid overall system performance with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Storage
It has a large 750GB hard disk drive. This is plenty of room for a reasonably large collection of files including movies and music.

Screen
The P750 sports a 15.6in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. It is 3D capable, which means that by using the included 3D glasses it’s possible to watch 3D movies and play 3D games.

Portability
The P750 has average portability, because it weighs 2.6kg and is 35.6mm thick. It'll be straightforward to carry around.

Other Features
The P750 has a Blu-ray player, which allows it to play Blu-ray movies. It also has a TV tuner, which makes it possible to watch live TV on the F750 and also to record live TV to the HDD storage.
