This new allrounder has more storage than most alternatives, and the price tag is a lot lower as well.
The 15.6in Samsung RC530-S08AU for $949 at Bing Lee is noticeably cheaper than comparable slightly older allrounders. It has more storage than average, and the specs are strong enough to run modern games and demanding programs.
One of the main performance specs is the 2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz) processor, which can boost up to 2.9GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. This means that there are few demanding programs beyond the RC530's reach, and it can multi-task fluidly as well with the 4GB of RAM. Modern games will run well at medium to high settings on the 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M dedicated graphics card.
The RC530 also has more storage than most allrounders, packing in a 750GB hard disk drive when most notebooks with equivalent specs in other areas only have 640GB HDDs. At 2.6kg it's also a tiny bit heavier than average, but not so much that it's difficult to carry around.
This notebook is pretty good in terms of specifications and price. It's not the best we've seen, but it's not bad either.
