• Being Productive

  • Writing

    • I'm not interested in Writing or Publishing.
    • Nothing fancy - happy using Wordpad or an online based word-processor for occasional letters and notes.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Word to create letters, mailouts, leaflets or brochures
    • I want to use full-featured desktop publishing programs like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator to create serious business publications and marketing materials
  • Electronic publishing

    • I'm not interested in Electronic Publishing.
    • I want to create simple Powerpoint presentations; PDF files; Build and maintain simple websites and blogs
    • I want to create Powerpoint presentations and/or websites that use lots of rich media, from flash to videos; work with large PDF files.
  • Graphics & Design

    • I'm not interested in performing graphic design tasks on my notebook.
    • I want to create simple graphics with paint programs
    • I'll perform advanced image alteration with programs such as Photoshop or Corel; Create rich graphics with pro software such as Adobe Illustrator; Run 3D software for home or garden design; Create multimedia school projects with rich graphics and video
    • I'm running a design studio using Adobe's Creative Suite or similar collection of professional graphics programs
    • I'll be using CAD/CAM software for industrial design

    • I will collect, store and listen to music with my computer's speakers

    • I will watch mostly low or You-Tube quality videos
    • I will watch HD quality videos downloaded from the Net or my home camcorder.
    • I will watch HD quality videos ripped/played from DVD discs
    • I will watch HD quality video from Blu-ray discs
  • Gaming

    • I will play Internet or computer board games, if any.
    • I will play popular PC games at low detail settings
    • I will play popular PC games at mid-range detail settings
    • I will play PC games at the highest detail possible
  • Photos

    • I'm not interested in managing digital photos on my Notebook.
    • Display and sort photos
    • I will store, edit and organise photos, do some light retouching
    • I am an enthusiastic or professional photographer and will be managing a large collection of digital photos
