Microsoft signs off on its next-gen Office suite next month as Office 2010 hits RTM; business customers can grab the suite on May 13th but consumers will have to wait until June.
Microsoft has named the date for the release of its Office 2010 supersuite, along with its SharePoint 2010, Project 2010 and Visio 2010 siblings.
The entire family will hit RTM (release to manufacture) next month, to be followed by a release to Aussie business customers on May 13th (May 12th in the US).
The rest of us will have to wait a little longer – Microsoft has advised that “for consumers, Office 2010 will be available online and on retail shelves in June”.
The Office 2010 beta edition will remain available for download from
www.office.com/beta, while anyone buying Office 2007 between March 5th and September 30th will be eligible for a free upgrade to the equivalent Office 2010 product under Microsoft’s
Office 2010 Technology Guarantee.
