Optus apes Vodafone with the sudden introduction of a $50 unlimited prepaid plan for the iPad 3G.
We’ve said it before and it bears repeating – we love competition. We love the smell of carriers trying to best each other or even doing a ‘me too’ act.
Case in point? Two days ago,
Vodafone revealed its iPad 3G plans and stunned most everyone with the inclusion of an unlimited plan for $50.
Yes, for $50 per month – less than $2 per day – this ‘broadband buffet’ plan lets you enjoy all the data you can download.
Now overnight, Optus has revised its own iPad 3G microSIM recharge roster and added the same deal – $50 per month for unlimited downloads.
As with Vodafone’s unlimited deal, you can bump up from a lesser value microSIM recharge if you’re expecting a mad month of mobility and then drop back to a cheaper recharge once those 30 days are over. (Just note that any unused data remaining from your previous month will be soaked up first, after which the unlimited deal kicks in.)
