Origin enters the market with a cool gaming desktop and notebook.
I'm not convinced in this trying economic time that we need another boutique gaming PC manufacturer. More choice is typically a good thing though and today a new gaming PC maker as tossed its hat into the gaming PC market in Australia.
Origin has announced that it is now selling its machines in Australia.
The company offers two products -- the Genesis desktop and the Eon18 notebook. The systems are very attractive visually with a host of custom paint options available to make the machines stand out from the crowd. One of the coolest things about the Genesis gaming desktop is that the buyer can choose cases from Corsair, Lian Li, and Silverstone. You can even send them your own case and they will build your gaming rig inside it.

CPU options on the Genesis go up to the Core i7 Extreme 975 with an option for air or liquid cooling. Intel Core i5 and AMD CPUs are available as well. Graphics options include single and dual ATI and NVIDIA offerings and three GTX 285 cards can be crammed inside the machine. Storage is up to 1TB with SSD options and the machine can be fitted with up to 12GB of RAM.
The Eon18 notebook can be had with several custom paint options and can be fitted with up to the Core 2 Extreme Quad QX9300 CPU. Video card choice include single or SLI GTX 280M GPUs. The huge 18.4-inch LCD has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and up to 500GB of storage can be fitted with SSD options. Pricing for the Eon notebook starts at $3,514 and options can run the price to much more than that starting amount. The Genesis desktop starts at $2,441 for an AMD Phenom system and $3,140 for an Intel Core i7 machine.
