The latest update to Leopard, 10.5.2 has just gone live. Read on for all the details.
The latest update for Leopard, 10.5.2, has just gone
live and the 180MB update (The combo update is 343MB) packs many features, stability improvements and subtle interface improvements. Digital camera enthusiasts can also breath a sigh of release as update improves
support for the latest round of digital cameras, including the newly released Nikon D3 and Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III. The update also
includes Security Update 2008-001.
Some interface elements that caused users grief when Leopard was released have been addressed in the 10.5.2 including an update to the Stacks feature, which now has a list view and a folder view option and an updated background. The infamous translucent menu bar has also been addressed and can now be disabled in the Desktop and Screen-saver System Preference.

Apple have also improved the flexibility of Time Machine (the built-in backup feature) by adding a menu bar option that gives more granular control of the backup process (this option can be turned on in the Time Machine System Preferences).
As well as security patches Apple have also improved Airport, Network and Active Directory features and enhanced the .Mac Back to My Mac feature by extending
support for additional routers.
As with any upgrade it's worth doing a complete backup before applying the patch, and if 10.5.1 is working fine for you now consider delaying the update for a week or so, just in case any issues arise. For a more detailed list of the changes in 10.5.2 see here.
