Am think the people that bought Vi$ta ultimate disaster have been duped by false promises of extra features available in that edition.
The last Plus CD edition was for Windows XP (it was one Disc and then launched with two disc edition) nothing interesting on that add on just one or two games.
Microsoft will not stop at nothing by making misleading statements about extra features in later editions of their software.
Is regrettable that such practice is being accepted by people bored with their money trying to spend on something they call the "next big thing" yawn!

I do still use Windows XP, when Windows Vista was announced almost two years ago, I wanted to buy the OS for my PC.
Then, surprise, the newest OS has been out to the market with several variants, and crippled performance, yet so many people resist to buy or upgrade it.
At this stage this is just a marketing hype, I don't think Microsoft will fix the OS to avoid a repeat of Vista woes.
Steve Ballmer, said of Windows Seven that will be a better Windows Vista (he didn't wanted to say this new OS will be Vista Second Edition) If he keeps talking and arrogantly view that his company will succeed in turning around the debacle made by promoting a better user experience, he is wrong!
No one will buy a crippled OS, with ridiculous measures to stop legitimate users to use the software in their machines, such as WGA, Activation, DRM and other nuisances.
The Operating System is the soul that powers the Personal Computer, to work with everyday, every user has paid a lot of money just for a single disc, Microsoft is abusing of its position because nobody challenges this rotten company.
With more than 90% worldwide of the computers using Any version of Microsoft Windows, this dominance has escalated in utter abuse, Mac and Linux OS looks a mere pretenders in comparison With MS.
If Microsoft is willing to mend its wrong doing then it must start with better performance without restrictions, lowering the price of its products, a single product with no more variants, ditch WGA altogether, if they want to keep activation then no more product key to type; also it must accept computers that are currently running Windows XP.
If this is not met, then goodbye Microsoft, I will not buy anything anymore!

I laughed When I read all the attacks and counter attacks by some of you.
Tough Mr. Bannan express his adulation for Microsoft, I don't like the way he does.
Microsoft is the dominant player in the world, while others try hard to get even, its very sad that no healthy competition is truly there, Linux try to go little by little, in the other hand Mac has admirers that always try to bash PC users just because they say My Mac is much better than your PC.
Set aside your egos, here is one common nuisance, Microsoft of course!
I don't care if Microsoft want to make money out of its product line, I don't like the way this software company is abusing of their user base charging exaggerate prices.
Bill Gates once said his company wanted the right to innovate, but the truth is not innovation but the art of robbery from the pockets of all users by making a gradual improvements and fancy colours and graphical display themes.
If you don't want to get ripped off, tell Microsoft where to go, to hell!
A fair price for all or else!
No more restrictions with crap spyware/malware like DRM, WGA and Activation.
Its not enough the 25 characters to type in the screen for the Product Key?
the same goes for Adobe Systems, Symantec and other software companies.
An innovation is something you and all people see, like cars, Television sets (Plasma and LCD) Sound systems and other devices; Software cannot be classified as an innovation because not everyone interacts with a computer.
Here is a question for you Raindog.
What would you do if you get frustrated by using some of the well known software?
a)Course them because is their fault
b)Wish you could be there poke their eyes with your fingers, punch the face and kick their ass and tell them take this you bastards!
c)Wish you could say "I will pitty the idiots who mess with me" or
d)Do nothing (think you got bored, no one cares because a software is not like an electric good and you don't have 12 months warranty to pursue a claim with fair trading authority)
In my humble opinion, you are very eloquent, you could write articles for APC as well.
I wish you sincerely tell everyone what do think about this.

Hello Nick:
Have you got the latest video drivers for your Video Card? Its more probably the cause of the screen freeze.
Depending on the Graphic Chipset Nvidia or AMD/ATI it should have some settings for gaming as well.
Also you need to run a disk defragmenter like Diskeeper you can find the free version, just use google.
Perhaps you have an small amount of memory installed in your computer, in that case increase that amount to the maximum (depending on your computer system) this can up to 4 Gigabytes or more.
Also be sure to scan your Hard Disk if there is any kind of viruses.
Some Keyboards and mouse have settings for gaming (mine being a Logitech Bluettoth wireless has some settings for this kind)
I have some titles of very nice games I have played before, I wish I could have found some interesting titles at sensible prices, I play occasionally but I prefer to use graphic applications and spend time to read some of the articles here at APC website.
Have you noticed most of the games today have shifted to Console Games that plug in from the modest to the most sophisticated TV set?
If problems persist, you need to be more specific, so some of the APC writers or the other guys may assist you.
Cheers.

Another alternative is to make changes in the way to view the file and folders to unhide them all.
Doing this may discover the folder that contain the complete installation files.
If this is true, then use a removable drive and copy the contents of this folder to that drive, also burn the contents to a blank CD or DVD so you may have these files handy for re-install.

Hello Nick:
The way to do the install Upgrade of the video graphics card is to uninstall the current version you have, then re start the computer.
when the computer is re started try to install the latest video driver ( the one you downloaded recently)
I advice you to do the uninstall in safe mode, when you turn on the machine or re start press the F4 key this will bring you a menu try as I said the Safe mode.
Also look in Control Panel what programs you have installed, may be there are some that you may not need, so you can uninstall them.
I have an AMD/ATI video card, when I need to get the latest driver I have to do the way I have explained you above.

I have tried out the beta in a DELL Optiplex GX 260, Pentium 4 processor with 1GB of memory and 200GB Hard Disk.
As this system is a 32 bit type, I see no problems running the OS on this kind of Processor.
The only concern there will be six variants of the software compared with Apple OS X one size to fit all.
Why not make this Operating system available for free, then just charge for support when needed?
Some Linux distributions do this, for the small, medium and large companies.
Microsoft still can make money out the other products.
Some people I have talked to have said to be disoriented why they should keep buying the OS when this is an integral part of the computer.
Many people can't afford to buy this essential software, they resort to buy a pirated copy of the program.
With the Linux model of distribution, the program is free to use on as many computers, the program disc can be given away to friends and relatives.
I feel moved for this kind of heroic approach, if everyone thinks for a little moment, there should be an opportunity to donate for this noble cause with whatever amount of money small or great, to compensate the great effort of the people behind the program.
I don't deny Windows is still preferred over Linux, but is a totally disgrace that one big company try to get rich at the expense of those who have hardly won a salary just to bother for a program that will become obsolete later and then buy a new version just because the new one has better features, this is a waste of money anyway!

Hello, I have done the installation of Windows 7 RC in my computer.
I have installed 2 hard drives, each drive is partitioned in 2, At first I have been worried what would happen if I tried to install it by running the installation via Win XP, so I did had to boot from DVD and start from there.
The installation routine took less time than XP, I have installed, Mozilla Firefox, video driver from AMD/ATI, driver for the Logitech Keyboard and Mouse combo MX5500 Revolution, an antivirus, Flash player and so.
At simple view it runs ok, but it refused to let me install Zone Alarm firewall and the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card (even tough both files are for Windows XP and Vista).
For what I see, it must be rectified this situation prior to make the finished product.
This is a preliminary conclusion, there is a need to make further tests as well.
The current environment is a 64 bit OS instead of the 32 bit factor (32 bit is for previous Pentium 4 generation and 64 bit can be used with Pentium D, Core processors Duo, Quad and Core i5 and i7 respectively) taking into consideration the machine I have is an Intel Core to Quad processor.
The Partitions should have been C, D and E (for the DVD ROM /burner) unless you have 4 partitions, then it should be assigned the driver letters accordingly.
In my case I selected drive E and began the installation from there.
This is how I did so far, I hope this information can give you an idea.
Maybe other members have a different experience, they should add their input as well.
Cheers

Dan, Windows 7 looks "great" in theory, but some device drivers are not available for some branded components, I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Sound Card, I have downloaded the driver from the Creative website, this file is for either Windows XP and Vista, I tried unsuccessfully to install it and failed.
Zone Alarm can't be installed as well, then this is not going to be a very good sign of things when the final product is released later in October or early November in this year.
The pricing is another factor to be taken into consideration, if is too expensive to buy, then I think many people will opt to get the pirated option, sure this is not good, but this is Microsoft fault, trying to maximise profits will not create a better adoption of the new Operating System, even more, when so many people have more than one computer in home, it will be not possible to upgrade to the latest version.
How is that people can have blind faith in Microsoft when this company is failing to give its user base a better deal?
Microsoft is displaying its utter arrogance with the jolly Roger flag representing the ultimate pirate with licence.

Affirmative, Windows Vista has been a complete failure since day one.
Microsoft has a pending Class Action lawsuit to answer for, everyone in the computer industry knew vista was a complete failure too.
Windows XP is still working great, there is no need to move to another OS, unless the successor of Vista is worthy to buy if it can fulfil the requirements of Reliability, Better license for up to 5 computers (minimum) for family or personal use and Price the ultimate version should be sold for $100.
After all, Microsoft will make more money.
With Windows 7 approaching to a release date in October or early November this year, to market the finished product, its still early to tell if it will become a success or not.
There are some issues with the latest build of the RC, drivers and software compatibility, yet if Microsoft push ahead without proper functionality, then the replacement of Vista is also doomed.
Is sheer stupidity to push the computer parts manufacturers to work on a stable driver, this has been the same mistake Microsoft did with Vista.
Wait for more details to come later and see for yourself if this can be a reliable step, then you can safely buy the finished product.

To read more head to this page:

Microsoft does not deserve respect regarding this pricing.
Unite everyone and say NO to Microsoft pricing of Windows 7, don't buy a thing until this company feel the wrath of disgruntled users and lower the prices to a much better value.
Also people that have more than one computer, should press for a better license for up to 5 computers not less than that!
If this does not happen, I will use Linux altogether in my PCs, being this free of charge and not restricted to the amount of computers to install the program.
Sure, Windows 7 RC is looking good, but at this stage is a lot of money considering there is more than one computer at home.
If piracy were allowed here in Australia, Microsoft could feel the pain in lost sales and get a lesson to not underestimate the will of the people.
To those who say want to buy it anyway, you are working for Microsoft to promote it at all costs, such bunch of suckers never succeed after being used for this evil deed, are being kicked out unceremoniously that's it!

I have created this topic to voice my anger at Microsoft for its senseless pricing.
So many of you have more than one computer at home destop and laptop.
This topic is to protest about such arrogant intentions, not everyone is rich enough to splash out a lot of money when the Operating System is the most important part to operate a computer.
Out there, Linux is free, a brave and bold move by those who want an alternative to Microsoft Windows.
Linux is far from perfect, not easy to use as Windows, that's why Microsoft is abusing of its shameless monopoly upon 90% around the world usage.
I don't say that Windows should be free (but I wish it could be so) because in many homes there is more than one computer, so it would be nice to have the latest operating system running on these machines.
Here is the time to vent your spleen on this outrageous move by Microsoft to impose such exorbitant pricing upon us the users who have made of this a multi-billion dollar company.
While many of you have expressed a desire to pirate the product, because is too expensive, I hope this would not happen, instead a mounting pressure to this company would give a better results.
Piracy is not the answer, is not worth the trouble.
Don't be silent, tell Microsoft that you are not willing to pay too much money, tell that you want a better conditions on its license, tell that you want a better value without sacrificing your wallet.
Please, think for a moment, and write your comments.
Don't be selfish, because this situation is so serious, not all people has the luck to have a computer, the biggest problem is when a new operating system comes out, not always everyone can buy a new system, so be reasonable.
Your shout, lets hear your protest!

I agree with you, Microsoft must change the way of providing its software.
It would be much better if the prices would be lower and the licence more flexible than now.
Linux is a very interesting operating system, however some people complain too much, what could happen if these distributions did cost some amount of money?
I have tried several Linux distributions, for me, Fedora 11 is a very good software that cost nothing, what I really appreciate is the way people around the world are doing to contribute to make it much better every release of this and other distributions, for more about Fedora go to: http://fedoraproject.org/
I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and Mouse, I tried unsuccessfully make it work starting with the installation routine, the only way is to use a corded keyboard and mouse; this does not happen with Fedora.
You have mentioned the ISO image (CD or DVD) as a method to get the Operating System, I doubt Microsoft may consider this option, unless is prepared to give it free for personal use.
Microsoft is afraid to go head to head with Linux, where the ISO image is downloaded free of charge and to get support is possible to pay some amount of money, the other option is to buy the Linux distribution as a regular software with some kind of support included.
I know Ubuntu offers a Desktop and a Server Edition, both of them free of charge, Microsoft would not do that, with this kind of monopoly and the way things are now, if many people refuse to buy the software this company then it may sell for less.
i was one of the people who paid over $700 for vista ultimate and a month later all my mates had free pirated versions of the same thing
Most of the people want to buy something new, sometimes it happen to be so much expensive and then the price drops, if this product would be a movie the cost although is between $20 to $40 is not much than buying a software like Windows at a cost of $470 that's a daylight robbery.
Nobody is going to appreciate that because one person is operating the computer and knows what it has installed, while the rest knows nothing of it.
i try and do the right thing and it costs me a fortune, only to have people laughing at me for paying for the software
Sure, I have the same dilemma, it cost me a fortune too, I try to find free software for Windows (Antivirus, Firewall and other usable utilities)
Even tough, there is no comparable alternative to Windows, it must be noted that Linux is not in the same level as the Redmond based OS.
Most of us have bought a computer with any version of Windows pre-installed, this is where the abuse have started just because there is no competition.
Many people praise Apple for its OS and the computer, the only reason why I don't want to buy a Mac is because the price is very expensive too and the upgrade options are limited compared to IBM compatible machines.
I am no thief, but most of the guys that have "stolen"vista that i know wouldn't steal a newspaper, but don't give it a second thought when it comes to software
The situation is very sad, any of us would be tempted to get a pirated copy of a very expensive product, this only happen if the economic situation is very harsh, so many people don't mind about it and go ahead and get the pirated copy anyway.
This condition will exist because any company greedy to make profits does not understand there is people with very limited economic resources.
If these companies could change the pricing to reflect a better value, many people would benefit and the software makers could benefit as well, there is no need to have a very high pricing this will not work, only a reasonable price can make a difference.
The more cheaper the better, because everyone can purchase more.
I recently read a report about Adobe software, nobody wants to buy it because is very expensive only a few people can afford to buy it, the same can be applied to Microsoft, the end result a doomed sale.

4.5 hours to download the Linux CD ISO is too much, the only way to get that is buying the magazine with the DVD Cover Disc included if you only rely on Dial up.
When I downloaded Windows 7 RC DVD ISO for either 32 and 64 bit, it took me less than an hour using cable broadband, the same was for Fedora Linux 11 in both 32 and 64 bit DVD ISO images.
As I have some ancient Pentium 4 machines and a Core 2 Quad computer, the reality of upgrading to the latest Windows Operating System will be a big economic burden, the only choice is Fedora.
Other people may want to use different Linux distribution to their liking.
The trick to download a big file is in night time from midnight to 6 a.m.
If you read the links I have posted in the other comments, you can notice the fractured reality we are living in the computer world of today.
A few will empty their wallets to satisfy their ego on the latest and greatest, the vast majority of users around the will stay away for long time, some will make their minds if they want Windows or not.
The balance of the scenario will be between Linux and Apple, being this latter a very expensive option in either a desktop or a laptop computer, the question you must ask for how long it will long last that purchase, will become obsolete as well in a couple of years later?
You can't accept the abuse of one big company, if everyone agrees to buy nothing from Microsoft, I am sure you will hear the pleas towards the people to purchase any product for a much lower price than currently now.

I agree with you, we the users have to tightening the belt when the economic conditions are bleak in the coming months ahead.
Microsoft behaviour cannot be considered ignorance alone but sheer arrogance and lack of respect to the vast user base.
Microsoft thinks the users can afford to its senseless demands, when the reality is not everyone is prepared to outlay a lot of cash.
Microsoft and Adobe software are the most pirated among the net, because of its arrogant stance on the users, these companies need to wake up to the reality check or keep losing money anyway.
Those who can't afford need to think twice, look around the options apart of Windows is Linux (while is a good move in theory) the other an most expensive alternative is Apple.
Piracy is the result of continuous neglect of these companies trying to maximise its earnings squeezing the pockets of the users without knowing the economic condition of them.
Revolt, revolt, is time to rise your voice of protest!
Actually piracy is not only a result of neglect, its a result of people wanting something for nothing
May be Yes and No, a few may want to get the software without paying nothing, but for many this is the result of a very expensive product not all can afford to buy.
This problem has been exacerbated by the greedy software companies, believing it can make a lot of money at all costs, without any regard of the users.
So this has been turned into an industry to harvest golden eggs for a minority group that control a software company.
Because these people want to protect their selfish interests, have created a witch hunt against vulnerable users.
I would prefer a 5 licence instead of 3, because some people including myself have several computers in home, these machines may be tagged "old" Pentium 4 but still working, I tested them with the Windows 7 RC and it still work; it would be a burden to buy separate individual software units when one solution can fit the bill at low cost.
Its amusing that people seem to have no qualms about buying a new TV ... and putting it all on credit card or what not, but when it comes to software, there is a big uproar. Probably something to do with how its not physical compared to a TV
Ha! the situation is, software should not be really expensive, because software companies like Microsoft, make the Master Disc and then the copies of this master are dirty cheap, a mere cents, to make it look more interesting add the case or envelope, a little booklet and a big cardboard box, the finished product costs hundred or even thousands of dollars, this is the worst robbery in your face, we should call the Police to investigate this abuse.
Where is Fair trading or the ACCC, why not these authorities investigate and punish the perpetrators of such crime here in Australia.
Or the government is crossed arms and fearful of these mongrels?
Think again, who is responsible and demand justice!

You want to make a fresh install of Windows XP?
Then I suggest you to use a program called "killdisk" get it from www.killdisk.com/ get the free utility, this can be used with a floppy disk or CD, this will erase completely the hard drive and bring new life to start afresh; CAUTION! Use at your own risk, if you have some important files is better off to use an antivirus software, if you are completely sure you don't have anything important on your HDD then proceed.
It will take a bit longer to do the job for you but is worth the wait, after that you can use the Windows XP CD to start the installation process, don't forget to apply the drivers updates for your computer components if you are not sure of something please come back here and ask a question.
All the best, cheers!

Many people use Windows around the world thanks to IBM, when this company started to make the Personal Computer back in 1980, the first OS was Disk Operating System (DOS).
Microsoft gained absolute control over the Operating System, Windows 1.x to 3.x were just a graphical environment not a truly Operating Systems as is it today.
IBM machines and compatibles were really expensive in the '80s and '90s.
Today the machines cost less but have great performance, is true that depending on the configuration the price of the computer can get more expensive.
With an IBM machine is possible to upgrade the internal components, this can't be done on the line of computers Apple has, also Apple has a monopoly on its hardware and software, with few choices to modernise the computer.
A Notebook from Apple cost a lot more than an IBM equivalent, the other negative factor is how long it will long last, has been woth the expense to buy it?
I have been using PCs for very long time, I am accustomed to it, it will be hard to adapt to another machine like Apple, unless the price would be really attractive.
Just one thing, I don't want to start a war of words about this topic, I am giving my humble opinion about your question.

Hello:

I have been using Windows 7 RC 64 bit, I wanted a firewall for this type of OS.
Suddenly, I received an offer of the latest Zone Alarm Pro completely free of charge! this offer was for one day only.
The program can run on Windows XP, Vista and 7 32 and 64 bit.
I don't know the pricing of this full version, the only thing is that is valid until October 2010 with 3 licenses, this means to install the product up to 3 computers.
I need to get used to this full version because I had installed the free version; to get the most out of it I run the uninstaller and got rid of the old and installed the new version 9.0.
The boys of APC Mag lay dormant, they missed it, this should be hot news, where are them?
Well, the program available on October 13 this year, so this became my lucky number, I would liked to celebrate my luck on the Black Cat Tavern, Meow!
This program is really good, about the good and bad features? I leave that to the head honchos writers of APC to do that job, after all we need to read their opinions as well.

When I tried the RC I had no trouble, so for the polished release version there should not be anything to cause this trouble.
The issue you have, as I said above maybe the drive, not the Motherboard.
The other thing could be a faulty disk, try with another disk to isolate the cause of the problem.

If your computer has access to the Internet via Windows Vista/7 partition, then find the drivers for your add-in card.
Tip, use Google or any other search engine of your liking to find the driver software for your card to make full use of Windows XP.
This will not represent a problem as you can use either operating systems independently.
Even after this, you can surf the web, just make sure you have found the correct driver for that card.
I hope this suggestion solve your problem.
Is very useful to buy APC magazine every month to keep up well informed, if you can afford it try another publication like "PC USER" to complement your information gathering, after all is very good to have one or more publications handy for future reference.

Advice reverting back to XP from Win 7?

Hello, its very sad to know you have problems with your Windows 7 installation.
The latest programs will not work with Windows XP (64 bit) unless its the 64 bit version, but I have doubts about it.
The crashes probably are due to your video card, other possible problem would be some kind of virus or malware, if this is the case then you need an antivirus and and antimalware program installed on your computer.
The Zone Alarm free firewall, Avast Free Antivirus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will do a good job to keep your system in good conditions, these are free and is good enough for you!
My advice to you is to install one by one and restart your computer.
Try to do a full system scan, then do a quick scan every day, its preferable to do the full scan once a week or when necessary.
see if this can solve your problem first, also, make sure you can have the update feature of Windows 7 to notify you then select the updates you need, except KB 971033 this is an intrusive "update" that will cause you more problems.
Also you should have a defragmenter to speed up your system, Smart Defrag is a free program better than the built in windows defragmenter.
As a last resort, you need to save all of your important files to a removable disk, after this is done, then you can reformat your drive and make a fresh installation of Windows 7, preferable a custom install, so you can install the things you really need.
Don't forget to download the latest drivers for your Motherboard, NIC, sound and video card, and save it in a removable drive as well.
I hope this can help you.
Cheers!

Advice reverting back to XP from Win 7?

Hello:
I know how frustrating is your problem, I have a DELL Dimension E520 that was originally shipped with Windows XP, at that time there was Windows Vista, I decided not to have it due to the serious problems that caused to many people.
When Windows 7 was available as a beta and then as the finished product I bought the Ultimate version.
My system is still using a Core 2 Quad Intel processor, since I have installed the OS I have had no problems.
Previously I had a video card that gave me trouble, so I took out that one and bought a new one (a Gigabyte branded ATI Radeon HD 4550).
I don't know about your system configuration, It would be easy to assume that with a reformatting and a clean install will solve the problem, (only do this as a last resort) think for a moment now.
Most of the problems like yours are due to the video card,I can suggest you is to buy a new video card, preferably an ATI card, choose the entry level card if your system is more than 2 years old if your system is newer then choose another one that may come with more memory (1 TB), you will not spend much more than $100 or a bit more than that.
If you opt for the video card, uninstall the driver of your old card and shut down the system, then take out the old card from your computer and install the new one, after that switch on the computer and after windows 7 is started install the driver for the new video card.
if you play games then an Nvdia card would be suitable, again determine if your system is able to accept any of these cards, one place I recommend you to go is Adelong computers
If at one point all fail then you can reformat the drive, and make two partitions, one for the operating system and essential data and one more for all the data you want to create and store.
When you install Windows 7 the one thing is add the drivers for the installed components, these must be the latest version (Video, sound, network and Motherboard chipset), apart from this you should make sure if there is a new BIOS update for your system.
After this you can install your applications, as I have win 7 I don't want to go back to Win XP, unless there is some compatibility issue, you should download and install WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe from Microsoft.
Other thing
I hope this info can help you, cheers!

Wow! your system is much more powerful than mine.
The one thing you should try is to change of video card.
I am not convinced of the Nvidia video card as it cause a lot of problem specially when using in a daily basis, if you can afford to change to a new card better try any of the AMD/ATI Radeon series, per example Sapphire Radeon HD5670 1GB GDDR5 DX11 is costing $169.95 at Adelong Computers.
For more info go to https://www.adelong.com.au/index.php?cPath=55 to see the range of cards available there.
Also Gigabyte is a very good brand too, but you have to find out where you can buy from (AMD/ATI and nvidia are made by this brand)
Now your programs that are incompatible in Windows 7, uninstall them and as I said before download the Windows XP mode from Microsoft.
After that install the programs in Windows XP mode, this way you can work with your applications seamlessly.
As you have 2 HDD in your computer, is very wise idea the main HDD should be resized to a half of the total amount to accommodate 2 partitions, one for Windows and one for Linux, you can play around with it and use it after all is free.
I have downloaded the latest Ubuntu Linux and I will burn the disc and install it in my system to see how this goes (I like both GUIs Gnome and KDE) if you have a good data allowance try download the DVD ISO of the OS and install both GUI.
Well I hope this can help, cheers.

If you take out the Nvidia card and leave the built in video chipset from the motherboard, it may work with reduced performance, this is because the video card that is built in has to borrow physical memory, that will degrade the performance of your system, and may cause system freezes in some instances.
That's why I recommend you to buy a separate card that comes with its own memory module up to 1GB or more.
This is useful for demanding applications (apart from games) that use the most of this technology.
At present, I would like to upgrade my video card, the only thing is one that may support my system processor and makes use of less power demands, I wish I could put a top range, but the problem is this may be not supported also it may not be redundant, unless the system is brand new.

While I have been taking my little grain of salt to contribute in the opinions, I have come up with an idea.
Why not let all participants to submit a ranking list of the the most evil software and hardware companies in the world.
As an example this is my list:

The ranking for the most evil IT companies:
1.Apple
2.Autodesk
3.Adobe
4.Symantec
5.Microsoft

All of these have something in common:Greed

If there are honest companies that really deserve to be named then its up to you!

Make your listing, please be honest and explain your reasons why these companies do need or not deserve to be trusted with a valid reason.
It's time to say what has never been discussed here and anywhere.
Good luck to all of you.

rogue316 made his listing by naming Apple the most evil IT 5 times in a row.
I am amazed why you rated this company that way.
In September 5, 2010 The Sunday Telegraph published a report on page 46 titled "The Big Apple" The author praised the company by making a misleading article.
(it's probably he was paid by Apple to orchestrate a promotional campaign to favour Apple)
take a look at this one "Apple cultivates religious fervour among its adherents in a number of ways, including its mysteriousness and its suggestions that customers are among the chosen ones... This extend to the fanatical attention to detail that Apple brings to its biggest product launches"
Apple not only is a misleading company also has become an IT religion to its legion of users that put blind faith to its product line.
To be in the position that it is now, is just pure opportunism, spending big in advertisements to brainwash the people with its useless products.
Once again, this demonstrates how very sinister Apple has become, if the company were a lot more honest, I would not make a harsh comment on it, but the facts prove how misleading it is this company!

This would be classified as evil too.
There has been reports of several deaths due to the way it sucks out people lives to the extreme.
In other words this is becoming a real epidemic problem where young and old are trapped in something worse similar to drug addiction.
The authorities have turned a blind eye about this, really pathetic scenario!

No company is really honest to prove the consumers can trust on it.
Apple is pure hype, it was on the brink of bankruptcy until the opportunist of Steve Jobs came up with useless ideas to make a very big profit for his company.
He could have sold a lot of computers and the OS as well, but he lost the plot, now the other players do battle for our wallets and our continuous preference for a "brand loyalty".
Microsoft became the biggest monopoly on earth for its Windows operating System, because around 90% of earth population has any of the versions installed on it computers ranging from Windows 3.x, 95, 98, Millenium, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista; to the possible scenario to buy or upgrade to Windows 7 (any variant from Home to Ultimate or 2008 (for medium to large business) This is real evil.
Adobe Systems has the same approach to Microsoft, selling overpriced software suites with activation routine.
Autodesk has overpriced software and is abusing of its position to get away with it.
Symantec has the same strategy as the other two companies, again is too bad that it has swallowed a lot of companies for a bigger slice of the pie.
After all the consumer is being treated badly, while these companies exploit and squeeze the pockets of its users to gain a very large amount of money.
These unscrupulous companies can protect themselves, but the consumer has no real protection from the abuses committed by them.

It has been suggested to you to use Mozilla Firefox instead of MS Internet Explorer, I have Mozilla Firefox Version 3.6.11 installed on my system, which is the latest, you can download and install it, even it will update to the next build until version 4 is released.Try it, you can see the difference, you may like it as your preferred browser.
The beta version is still experimental, wait till the more stable release comes up.
I have IE 8 installed as well, (32 and 64 bit) using Windows 7 Ultimate, some websites support IE and others not.
While there are a lot of browsers out there, I have no problems with Firefox, even I have Mozilla Thunderbird, a better Outlook Express replacement.

Your best bet is an AMD/ATI Radeon Video Card These Cards are very good:

Sapphire Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 $234.95
Sapphire Radeon HD4850 1GB GDDR3	$159.95

The first one is the latest Technology, both of them are available from Adelong Computers.
At present I have the 4550 card with 512 MB of memory, the 4850 is value for money, I would buy one now for my computer, the ATI range of cards are rock solid, go for it!
I agree; ATI is a much better choice than nvidia because they are cheaper and just as good. I have noticed lately that many big brands like dell and apple are beginning to switch to ati.
DELL computers had the ATI cards for several years, the only thing is that NVIDIA have been favoured more just because this company tries to heavily advertise its products.
ATI have had a good reputation.
There are other cards from manufacturers that licensed the ATI range of cards, a few of them are overclocked, pay attention to this as this is not the standard settings from factory.
So this depends of the taste of some users, I would prefer the card without any kind of overclocking.
Tell us for what model would you go.
Good luck with your choice.

The only thing that any user should take care is when handling internal components like the Hard Disk, Sound and Video Cards, Motherboards, to mention a few.
These stickers are fixed by the manufacturer, not the assembler of the "generic" computers sold in the local shops.
These shops put some small stickers to indicate the Date the component or system have been sold to the customer for warranty purposes.
A good dealer will provide assistance if the computer equipment has some issue, however there are some bunch of scumbags out there trying to make money selling dubious components, try to avoid this kind of sellers, if preferable buy branded systems or quality components in shops that offer genuine attention.
Adelong Computers, Harris Technology, Officeworks, Dick Smith Electronics and other dealers can be your first place to go there and buy what you need.
If some of you have experienced a very attention or service by any reputable seller other than the ones mentioned here, then is time to write a few lines and let us know, so maybe that you, me or anyone else can buy with confidence.

The limitations are only for the installed RAM in the motherboard.
For the Video Card is different situation, if the card is built in on the computer, then it will subtract some amount of physical memory.
per example, if your installed memory in the computer is 4 GB, the Graphics Card built in may need up to 512 Mb of RAM to be shared, so you would end up having 3.5 GB of memory for the Computer alone.
Is better of to buy a separate Video Card and install it it the corresponding expansion slot PCI, AGP or PCI express.
This way the graphic card will do a better job.
This i s my humble opinion, some other members or APC staff may give you much more information as well.
Get better gaming and hi-def by upgrading to a 22-inch widescreen monitor
Hey Dan, what's about more larger sizes?
I have a Samsung T260R Monitor 26" Widescreen, the images look good, while the price about $750 is something expensive, I got it for about $550.
According to Samsung, the screen size is 25.5 (not 26" as it should be, even there are other models marketed as 26" and the real size is as I said 25.5)
The controls are located in the right hand underside, the ON/OFF switch is a simple sensitive touch sensor, I have been a bit unconfortable because is not like the previous conventional Monitors wher all the controls are located at the front.
Pictures and video content look great, the concept design looks like if the Monitor were a TV set, not too bad.
Something must be done before using this monitor, there is a need to buy a decent video card, my system has a AMD/ATI Radeon 4550 video card, this is a decent decision a prospective user should do, the card costs around $105.
Standard Windows games under Windows 7 RC look great.
XP is good with the colours, this company is showing a better approach in many products, no doubt it will surpass Sony Corporation, one day...

Hello:
Your problem is the integrated video graphics, because this is the most cheapest alternative when buying a computer with a limited budget.
The memory is shared between the physical RAM installed in your PC and the graphic video chipset built in the motherboard reducing the performance of the system.
If this machine has an expansion slot for a video card, then buy one, I may suggest you the ATI/AMD Radeon, go to a reliable seller where you can buy one, try Adelong computers or any other dealer.
when doing the upgrade remember to disable the built in video graphics in the BIOS.
Hope this solve your problem.

Hello again, If the CPU heatsink is is small then you need to consider another one a little big in size, this is measure to prevent the CPU overheats and ruin your system completely.
Also if you want the Radeon HD 4850 you have to be sure the power supply can handle more than 400 watts, so you need a 500 watts or more of power supply for your computer system.
If there is a limitation due to the system power supply, if you have 300 watts of power, don't worry, I did faced with this scenario, but fortunately I got a Gigabyte Radeon HD4550 and installed in my system, now it runs like a charm.
The card cost around a little more of $100 but the performance gain is magnificent.
The current system I am using, a DELL Dimension E520, has been upgraded from a humble Pentium D to the Core2Quad Q6600 2.4 Ghz, 4 Gb of RAM and 2 500 Gb Hdd, the system is running wonderfully, I have not need to buy a new system yet, maybe if the requirements of software are needed later, I may consider a better system with the latest Intel processor.
Hope this helps.

Hello if you want to build a system with that amount of money , better off buy a new system, you may upgrade it later.
but if you want cheaper then have a look at www.ebay.com.au
You can find branded models of your choice or a generic system with the specifications you are looking for.
If the system is costing around $500 or more then consider a brand new system, this will cost you more, but you will be satisfied to know that there is something you can keep using for a very good time.
Average systems will cost around $1,500 or more while performance systems will cost dearly.
Look around, starting from DELL or any other brand you may like most and compare prices and specifications then you can decide.
Hope you may find the type of computer you want.

How very rude answer!

If your computer is old then there is no gains for upgrading with new parts.

If a brand new system is sold around $600 (without monitor) at Dick Smith Electronics, then if I were you, I would buy that and forget the upgrade.

Well this depend on what amount you want to spend for your dream computer.
Creative Audio Cards are great, The Audigy card you have mentioned is an old technology, this will fit perfectly on a Pentium 4 processor class of computers.
But if you are about to buy one of the latest computers my advice to you is to get the X-FI FATAL1TY card.
This card delivers better sound quality, and is adequate for what you are looking for; look around this may cost you about $300 or more, but I tell you is very good choice.
but if you want with the external box instead of the drive that can be fitted inside of the computer case, then the cost would be more around $500.

save your documents and other important files in the external hard Disk.
I am usually full of praise for new ubuntu releases but Hardy has left me a little under-enthused
I wonder how you can say "I am Windows free since 06"
Linux approach is heroic, still not perfect as Windows yet.
I believe one day it will surpass Windows in everything, by then the people will decide which OS is their allegiance.
I have 2 hard disks in my computer, I have installed Fedora 10, which I find much more flexible than Ubuntu.
I have tried Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 but despite the positive comments by some, I find not of my liking, because my Keyboard and mouse combo (Logitech) does not respond when trying to install in the computer, too bad :-(.
Ubuntu people must try harder to overcome with these hurdles to be the leader of the pack.
Though I hate Microsoft for its sheer arrogance, I still use Windows XP, the Linux community will need a big superhuman effort to make the OS more palatable, a more pleasant user experience and a better performance.

Hello Aubrey:

While many people including you, are using Ubuntu, I have tried to using it, but it does not work on my computer system.
My keyboard and mouse combo from Logitech refuses to work with it.
I wish this could change and at least be more flexible than the current version (8.10).
As i have 2 Hard Disks on the system, I can dual boot just just hitting the F12 key to run Fedora 10, the more irritant instance using Ubuntu is that Either GNOME or KDE environments are not satisfactory to my liking.
When Fedora 10 was released, I have downloaded the ISO DVD of the program containing the three Graphical environments in one disk; this does not happen with Ubuntu, for each GUI must be downloaded separately Ubuntu, Xubuntu and the XCFE version as well.
It's very sad not all people think the same in the benefits of the open source software, being free demonstrate the goodwill of some towards a common purpose to make available without restrictions for everyone and useful without need to spend exorbitant amounts of money for a product that may lack of features and be defective (like Windows Vista).
I people want to buy software they can do that, is just unacceptable that a company abuse of its position and charge inflated amounts of money for a product that will become obsolete later, then a new version comes out, again the user is forced to buy the new "improved version" to a hefty price.
Instead of calling this "Software" it should have been named "Ramsomware" because there is no one that may provide this kind of programs for a reasonable price nor even using in more than one computer.
I hope the Canonical people make more refinements for its software, so next time I may use it.

My Logitech Keyboard and Mouse combo are Bluetooth, this aren't recognised in Ubuntu, but Installing and using Fedora 10 (the current version at the moment) it does support it.
There is a lot of prise for Ubuntu, but I don't it as a worthy challenger to Microsoft OS yet.
As I have an Intel Core2Quad Processor, this is a 64 bit architecture, therefore the most suitable approach is using the AMD64 Linux version, the i386 is for older computers like Pentium 4 or below using the 32 bit Processor.
The Patition editor is daunting in Ubuntu, in Fedora is more like Windows, no need to set the Root and Home as this is done automatically.
Creative Sound Blaster X-FI sound cards are now supported.
Adobe Flash player does not work, it is not easy to install yet.
Let's see how this goes for the next release of Ubuntu, then I will give my opinion about it.

I recommend you the GNOME desktop, though you can use KDE which looks like more to Windows, someone said here that using ATI based video cards may cause crashes to the screen.
Use 32 bit if you have older system up to Pentium 4 or 64 bit if your system is the newest processor Core 2 duo or Core 2 Quad, this also applies to later processors from Intel, this distro can work with AMD 64 bit processors as well.
One thing I like is the weather and world clock (you are here in Sydney and you set another time for New York city, you will get the idea, try it) after all it will cost you nothing.

I have tried to install and use Ubuntu 8.10, the problem is that I have a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse, this combo does not work with ubuntu.
With Red hat Fedora Project, I have no trouble installing and using the Keyboard and Mouse, My System has two hard disks One with Windows XP and the other has been reserved for Linux.
If I don't like a distro, I delete that partition and start again with a new Linux version; this time around, I will download Fedora 10, preferable the DVD ISO and after burning that to a disc I will install it!
Sure, you can wait for the program to be available on the APC mag cover disc, but the image will be around 700Mb, with the DVD version I can have the flexibility to use either Gnome or KDE 4.x GUI.
If you don't have trouble using Ubuntu 8.10, keep using it, otherwise try another distribution like Fedora 10 or any other.
Don't expect It will work 100%, have patience, these people from the open source community will succeed one day!

KDE Is mimicking Windows Vista in part but not all of the features are likeable, while many people like the later, am think you can try both and see which one you like most.

Occasionally I use Fedora 11, this distribution is not sexier than Ubuntu, but at least works fine not closer as Windows.
It will take a lot of work to make it a better product to really challenge Windows all the way.
That's why people don't want to use Linux because is not like Windows, I hope this could be a reality and then we will see a difference!
Hi "Halcon" :) Just had a quick look and download of that "Format Factory" :) Does it do everything automatically?
I basically want to convert .swf files to .wmv
Hello Big Baboo:
I will answer your question, Format Factory is a free utility, you don't need to worry about it.
When you open Format Factory, in the left side of the screen, there is a pane with the tasks that the program can do to convert one format to another.
Like Video, Audio, Picture and more, click the Video option, from there click All to WMV, click the output settings.
Leave the High Quality and size, there are several options you can try for yourself, but I think you should try with the default settings first.
Then click OK to accept the changes, please note theses changes are temporary, you have to do the this again, every time you run the program.
Click the Add File button, browse for the file or files you want to convert, select it, when you are done click Open and then OK.
One thing that you should do is where you want the file/s converted, click the Option button, in the Output Folder click the change button and browse where you want to put the files in or you may create a folder first and do this action prior to the conversion.
This part is will remain permanent until you change it for another location on the computer.
I hope this helps.
Cheers!
I usually delete the .flv files after I've finished with them although it might not be a bad idea to keep them just in case
Hello again, is wise idea to keep the files if there is something wrong, I suggest you to buy a removable Hard Disk (you may chose between 500GB or 1TB the later has more room space for more files to save in) find out more at Officeworks they have very good specials, I recommend you the Western Digital range of Removable HD.
Previously I had been using "WinFF" a free converter utility, this takes more longer than Format Factory, also not so flexible than FF.
I think FF is much better than ever.
Don't worry about using FF after you get the right result you can be satisfied with it.

Hello Big Baboo, for me is not a problem to help others, about the software converter you had used the money you spent is gone, better try to see the reviews of software before you buy anything with your hard earned cash.
What wonder me, there are people or entities that give away their creations so other people can use it freely, these people deserve a medal or something because they think others can have the joy of something useful.
Most software are being improved the code, I accept this, but I can't accept the abuse in putting unrealistic conditions, to limit users who have paid a big amount of money, the next time that purchase is rendered useless, because there is a new version.
Have a good weekend.

With a Laser printer the printed pages not only look good but also will not fade as it happen with the Inkjet/Bubblejet printers.
You can print a lot of pages in either BW or Colour.
The only Thing that cannot handle yet is printing with glossy paper.
If Samsung can make it, then I will go and buy that particular model and print my pictures from digital camera and create my mini-museum for the family and friends to see it.

Your problem could have been easily averted, if you saved a copy of the email containing the serial number or activation code in a removable disk.
This is the same advice I can give to all other users of any product that comes from online.
Last year I had the luck to receive an e-mail from Check Point the maker of Zone Alarm, I got a link to download a free full version of Zone Alarm Pro, I had to get the license key to install the product, when I did that, I have copied the content of the e-mail to a blank page of MS Word and saved it in the external hard drive for safekeeping.
This was useful when I needed to format the drive and prepare it for a clean installation of Windows 7 Ultimate.
After this, I had spent long time installing the applications including the Zone Alarm Pro.
Now has lapsed one year since I have installed that program, it no longer works at its best, as there is no updates for it; I had to uninstall it and got the free version, while not full featured as the pro version still I have the essential protection.
Coupled with Avast free Antivirus and Malwarebytes free, I have something that is useful, it would be a madness to spend in something that will be useless a year later, unless software companies were more honest and offer its latest offerings dirty cheap, there is no reason as I said to spend money for nothing!

Is being told somewhere else that Microsoft is making money out of the Internet Explorer browser indirectly.
Many people have asked this question, Why?
You may remember when Netscape Communicator was the de facto choice for everyone, despite there was Mosaic as well.
Netscape made a lot of money out of it.
When every new subscriber of Internet service Provider had to start with it, being forced to buy a expensive software that is to access the Internet.
The browser is a very significant part when everyone uses the internet, so if there are new releases not everyone would be in a position to buy a new version or an upgrade.
Microsoft saw this as an oportunity to steal the show, it went along with IE from the start to what is now.
Netscape lose ground and ultimately paid the price, ceasing to exist.
Before this happened, a group of programmers were chosen to form the Mozilla Project, now known as the Mozilla Foundation the maker of Firefox.
So you see, as the phoenix that comes out from the ashes, Netscape successor is Firefox.
This could have been a very good plot summary for a Television or Cinema blockbuster, the tale of revenge of the browser.

Your problem is easy to fix, if you have Windows Live Messenger, Log on to Messenger.
Then click on your User Name (per example "Superman") Available button.
There is a context menu click on Options.
Go to Sign In section, Uncheck "Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows". "Allow automatic sign in when connected to the internet" should be checked, this means a tick in the little box.
After this click on the Apply button to make your change permanent.
Click the Windows start menu, select the Startup, make sure there is no shortcut to Windows Live Messenger otherwise, delete it.
This should do fine, there is nothing to worry about, I have got no trouble with this approach.
Good luck!

Hello, its time to move to a better monitor, CRT monitors are analog technology, the other issues with it is that consumes more power than current LCD monitors.
I had in the past a 21 inch CRT monitor, then I was looking to replace it with a widescreen monitor; so I settled with a Samsung T260R model,
This is a 25.5 inch and supports a maximum resolution of 1980 pixels.
Because is too small to read with this resolution, I set it to 1280 x 800 pixels.
The price for this monitor is about $800, you can shop around and get for less.
If this is not of your liking then you can try another brand LG, DELL or any other brand you may feel is good for you.
Picture quality is good, I like the the look and feel of my monitor.

A video camera function is just to produce moving pictures, I doubt this can produce nice snapshots.
If you are willing to buy a photo camera then I suggest you to look for the Samsung camera, starting from 8 Mega pixels this camera cost under $100.
I have a 10 Mega pixels model (Samsung) this cost me below $300.
The quality is reasonably good, with several settings.
If you want to modify some aspects of any picture try to make a copy of the original and save it in TIF file format, why? well this a lossless format and widely use in commercial print; if you use and save a JPG or JPEG file format you will ruin your picture.
If you want a serious results then look for a Digital SLR camera, being this option the most expensive, there are several brands in the market, look for the reviews on the most popular models, its up to you.
try either the GIMP or Net Paint, If you can afford a bit more there are several more applications with a cost around $300 or less.
The decision is yours, good luck!

Hello, recently I got an LG Blu ray player with 250 GB HDD combo unit.
I plugged it into one of the TV HDMI sockets, tried to playback a region 1 DVD with no luck, the player refused to do it, this unit is locked to region 4.
I have several DVD movies in region 1 and 2, I looked up for a hack in Videohelp website and found nothing, went to whirlpool forums and found nothing and last went onto Google to find something and found nothing too.
The Australian branch of LG told me is locked to the aforementioned region 4.
I know previous units could be unlocked with a hack, it seems to me LG is an out of touch company making big profits, without even bothering to make a product more useful for the consumer.
I wanted an all in one solution instead of buying separate components for my TV.
I rang Samsung to see if they do have a unit capable to be region free with no luck.
Not sure if the range of Sony Blu ray players are region free out of the box, but this would be an extra expense, instead of a one size fit all solution.
This situation has angered me, i want to boycott LG for its arrogant position.
I wish there could be a nice solution to my problem, Any ideas?

If someone want to sell his/her computer or accessories, there are other places to do so, unless an specific area is created in APC for such small announcements, this should be done in a properly manner without misleading anyone, if an abuse is committed then it should be dealt according to the severity of the situation.

What's the matter with you Aubrey?
Are you accusing me of something I have not done, I am not an spammer or vandal, think twice before you write, don't make false statements or point the finger without proper basis for your views.
If Tim's has notifications of someone replying to his comments, then he must check his personal profile and clear the respective checkbox to receive notifications via email about the comments.
It happened to me too, because I have not clear the tick beside the "Send me email alerts for new comments posted in this article", my inbox got about 50 messages telling me someone has made a comment or reply of a news topic I did made my comment.
So the problem lies in this tickbox every time you, me or another member create a new comment, this is very tricky, I know it would drive insane to everyone.
Hope there is a better fix to this issue.

Tin, I hope you have read my post to Aubrey.
Try to do what I have said, there is nothing else, unless the programmers of APC website make some tweaking to remedy your problem.
I know is a very annoying feature, instead of doing good it makes some uncomfortable mischief to anyone.
Have a wonderful weekend, you need to relax, watch some very good movies (I can't suggest you which because you may have watched it already or some of them may be not of your liking), anyway have a good time buddy!

I am not tired of Raindog posts, but I am pissed off by that moron called Sli.
The idiot prise Microsoft for being "innovative", suckers like him think they will be rewarded, unless he work or is paid from Microsoft to to spread a lot of misleading propaganda.
In that case suckers are a bunch of losers.
So don't lose your time prising the evil Microsoft, you know well how great harm than good has made to its user base; because they care more about money instead of giving an usable product to an affordable price!

Raindog, don't listen to the useless talking of of these sick bastards.
I would like to have more time to keep writing, but I come here to read the news and sometimes to voice my frustrations over the "software industry"
everyone is free to determine what software to use on the computer, however I find unjustified to being abused by the big companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk and others to do whatever they want, imposing absurd conditions on the use of their software.
More offending is that not happy with the sale of their software and and the user to type the serial number of the software, these unscrupulous companies resort to use spyware like techniques such as product activation, Genuine advantage and other measures goes against the free will of the user.
Only the pirated software that circulate around the web, is an example of the useless thinking of these companies that want to punish the legitimate users instead of lowering their prices and that way could slow down the piracy.
They know well, this is a losing war against the piracy, unless, the situation could change for good.
Where a product is sky high, always there will be some people trying to steal it, I want to see the lowering of the software pricing, so many people can use it, without hassle, everyone deserve to buy a product to use in a computer without fear or restriction.
A software is being released several times, a simple review of code and then is packaged for sale, then comes a "new version" again you have to spend a lot of money because you need the software anyway, this is not progress I call this robbery, because this mob of parasites from the software companies do nothing more than writing a few lines of code and that is.
The authorities are a bunch of chickens cowering in their desks without doing nothing to regulate the software industry, its time to raise your voice, explain your concerns as a computer user and be proud of using a machine that can as productive as a simple tool.

The people in this forum are running a marathonic quest for who is who in this forum, hope the blood does not run high.
I acknowledge is everyone right to give their opinions, you also should come clean, Windows Vista is a fiasco.
Would you spend several hundreds dollars for a fanciful plastic box containing a migre DVD disc and look at the screen like an idiot to a less productive Operating System?
Windows XP still does more than Vista, Microsoft came with the idea of controlling the user computer without even knowing that.
Many of you are holding for Windows Seven, but what if the software turns out to be Vista Second Edition?
To me, Steve Ballmer is nothing more than an utter arrogant, a Bill Gates toesucker, with little regard for the average user, he want to maximize his profits with software that gets a makeover now and later there is another little change, is like a woman to be gorgeous has to have a nice hairstyle, wear a sexy underwear and to put the finished touch a pair of stockings to show a nice legs; how very deceiving fantasy! all of the so called supermodels out there are nothing more than an illusion, they wear make up to look terrific.
If you are a Mac user, I have nothing to blame you, is your choice.
I have used IBM compatible machines for long, I have no intention to buy a Mac, because is more expensive and has no upgrade options.
I liked Microsoft before, but that changed with the total disregard this company has towards its users, I hate Microsoft for that, I will not forgive them for their insane arrogance, trying to brainwash the less fortunate with their failed products and policies.
