Intel Pine Trial power and a matte screen finish make for something different in the netbook market.
Specifications for a new Samsung netbook called the
N220 that uses the new Intel Atom N450 processor have turned up online. The machine is much better looking that the oddly designed
Samsung N310 we saw back in September. The new Samsung N220 model has popped up on a French retailer site called Rue de Commerce.

The machine uses a 10.1-inch matte finish 1024 x 600 screen. That matte finish is a great thing for those like me who loathe glossy screens with gobs of glare and sets this netbook apart from the masses. The netbook also has 1GB of RAM, 250GB of storage and runs Windows 7 starter edition.
Connectivity features include 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, and an Ethernet port. Power comes from a 6-cell 5900mAh battery promising 11.5 hours of runtime. The French get the machine for 349 Euros or about $560 here. You can bet that battery life claim is not what will be found in the real world. I would love a netbook with a matte screen.
