OOPS: Samsung outs unannounced Intel processor

New Samsung notebooks have an unannounced Intel CULV CPU inside.

The last time I talked about a Samsung notebook it was a massive 17-inch machine with subwoofers and the whole works. I'll admit that as cool as all the features were, the beast was hardly a true portable notebook. Samsung has come back and outed some new and thin notebook in its X series line called the X420, X520, and X120. The machines have 14-inch, 14.6-inch, and 11.6-inch screens respectively.

The trio are all under an inch thick and go up to about 4.4 pounds. The machines are shod in a glossy finish that Samsung is touting as scratch resistant. That is a nice feature for a machine this shiny; everyone knows how bad shiny plastic looks after a few months of normal use with all the scratches that end up on a notebook.

Inside the machine is some sort of unannounced Intel CULV processor, which is why Samsung's all mum on the details at this point. What we do know feature wise is that the machine has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a card reader, and HDMI out. Samsung also makes some impressive battery life claims if up to nine hours with the 6-cell battery. Prices for the line run from 699 to 899 Euro ($AUD1192 - $1533) and the machines are set to hit Europe and Asia this month.

Isn't APC an Australian publication? How about

"The trio are all under 2.5 centimeters thick and go up to about 2 kilograms"

Even put the Aussie measurements in brackets at least!!! To me it looks like Shane McGlaun just went copy paste from another countries post and called it his own! I'm not saying he did but it does not look like an Australian magazine has published it, which in turn makes me want to look elsewhere for tech news.

Ahh who cares - just use one of the hundreds of convertors out there. Do you really think any story is original? I really couldn’t give a dam whether a story is copied or not because I come to this site for my news. All news items come from a particular source so let’s not be too concerned about every little detail you read.
A site which caters for everyone is a good site and at least the Aussie dollars amount was bracketed......

Nice Looking machine. Yes metric means more to me too. One day the Americans will catch on, and imperial measurements can be consigned to the pages of history where they belong.

"CULV" is that any chance short for "CULVERT" meaning a narrow drain that you can barely squeeze into and in which all your money mysteriously
disappears? Heh heh, guffaw, laughing loudly and with great mirth :)

Judging by the lack of support and a firmware upgrade on my buggy Samsung Omnia i900 phone, I would hate to think of the problems this Laptop will have.
I really wish these reviews would somehow comment on the manufacturers history of support (or lack of).
Rule No. 1: Stick to the companies that specialise in their products.
