We've got one of the first copies of Windows 7 in the world -- and the screenshots and juicy tech details to prove it.

Above: The "device stage". Because "device center" was deemed too boring, and lord knows we need some substantial upgrades in Windows 7, not just a lick of paint on Vista... oh... wait. But seriously: mobile phone manufacturers can now provide settings for Device Stage so you can easily access all your phone's features via Windows 7 -- rather than struggling with some proprietary P.O.S. software written in a sweatshop in Korea.

Above: "federated search" just like how the founding fathers of our great country would have wanted it, had they had modern operating systems to play with. But seriously, it searches Sharepoint datastores too.

The new drop-down suggestions in the address bar in Internet Explorer 8. It's a bit like the Firefox Awesome Bar.

Above: yawn, it's the Internet Explorer 8 phishing filter kicking in.

Above: Internet Explorer 8. You're gonna love it!!

Above: jump lists. They're actually pretty useful -- you just right click on any app to get a list of recently accessed documents via that app.

Libraries: access documents, photos, music, etc, stored across multiple computers or network storage drives, as if they were all on your computer. This will actually make that issue of fragmented family file storage a heck of a lot easier if it's implemented well.
