The geek in me weeps at the sight of a torn up 27-inch iMac even though I prefer Windows.
I am not really a fan of Mac computers. I prefer to use what I know and I know Windows after using it since I was in grade school. I do like my iPhone, but the one Mac I owned ran Windows more often than the Mac OS thanks to Boot Camp. Despite being no Apple Fanboi, I still feel some pain at seeing that
sexy new 27-inch iMac torn asunder by iFixit.

The website went the full monty and picked up the top-of-the-line new iMac and proceeded to take the machine apart to show us all what the guts of the machine are like. The machine has an edge-to-edge glass panel rather than a panel with a 4mm aluminum bezel around it like older iMac machines.
The publication noticed that the glass was not aligned correctly before it started the teardown, which I wouldn’t expect given Apple's notoriety for quality. After gutting the machine, the panel was found to be made by LG for Apple. It seems that the only thing you can upgrade yourself without getting into major surgery is the RAM on the new machines. It is worth noting that while the screen has a 1080p capable resolution, the adapter needed to play your Blu-ray through the machine is not included. Hit the
link for all the teardown shots.
