Slick HTPC keyboard is a chip off the 'ol smartphone

Wireless Handheld Keyboard is perfect for in-car computers and HTPC fans looking to surf the net from the couch.

I like the idea of a computer in the living room or the car, but one of the big issues for me is that there isn’t enough room to have a normal keyboard and mouse in the car and the normal input devices aren’t convenient to use on the couch. The lack of decent input devices for these PC uses limits the appeal of computers in the car or living room for some users.

A new Wireless Handheld Keyboard is now being offered from Efo.buy-lowest.com that is roughly the size of a smartphone and offers a large track pad and a thumb-style QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard looks much like what you would find on your typical smartphone and the total size of the device is 83mm x 126mm x 9mm with a weight of 60g.

The keyboard supports Windows 2000, XP, and Vista as well as several varieties of Linux. The keyboard would also make a nice input device for the business user who gives lots of lectures and needs to control the PC from across the room while standing. Pricing for the keyboard is $US45 ($AUD57) including shipping and delivery time is about two weeks according to the maker.

What's not clear is what wireless standard it uses to communicate -- the picture below shows a USB receiver stick, so it is most likely either Bluetooth or a proprietary RF standard like those used by wireless keyboards.

Yeah, I have purchased it and it is good. I think it is a give and take compared to large size keyboard. To me, I have both large sized and this keyboard that I can use them for different occasions.

Yeah, I liked it and bought it week ago. It is a great tool. It is right that the keyboard is small. However, it is easy to use after using several times.

Odd that they've gone for not having a number row when space isn't really that limited (it's not a phone). If I was going to use it for car or home theatre purposes, I'd want dedicated number keys.

@Tin, no no, the keyboard has number key (1 to 5 : A, S, D, F, G), (6 to 0 : Z, X, C, V, B)
