The Firefox team is tinkering with the browser’s Windows UI ahead of next year’s 5.7 update. These screenshots give you a first look at their ideas for the redesign...
Windows looks set to get a little Mozilla lovin’ by the time Firefox 3.7 rolls around in early 2010.
The browser’s development team is set to tweak some of the UI when running under Windows, with new mockup screenshots showcasing some of the early concepts for ‘
brainstorming/exploration’.
These include tapping into the Aero glass effects of Windows Vista and Windows 7 and rejigging the Page and Tools buttons.
1. The revamped Toolbar and Tabs using Aero glass: the buttons are translucent and slightly glossy to meld with the toolbar, while the raised 3D look gives these elements a tactile ‘feel’
2. The Page button is directly connected to the page on the left side of the tab area
3. The Tools button is connected to the side of the browser window, along with a button to toggle the Bookmarks Bar on and off

The mockup above shows how Firefox 3.7 might look if you’re not running Aero's glassy glossy goodness...
... while those who still expect to be running Windows XP in early 2010 can check out the shots below.
