Telstra has scooped up the new BlackBerry Pearl 9100 3G smartphone for an exclusive launch later this month.

Telstra has landed RIM's new BlackBerry Pearl 9100 and will release the 3G smartphone on its Next G network later this month as 'exclusive launch partner'.

The Pearl 9100 is RIM's first consumer 3G handset outside of the current Bold and Storm series, and will be available from Telstra in Piano Black (pictured above, and looking slick) and Royal Purple (pictured below, and looking sick).

Telstra customers can pre-register their interest in the BlackBerry Pearl 3G by visiting www.telstra.com/blackberrypearl.

The carrier also plans to stage the BlackBerry BlockParty, "an exclusive concert event with a mystery performing artist", and teases the digerati party set with the lure of winning tickets at www.BlackBerryBlockParty.com.au.
