The news out of Telstra just keeps getting better! Telstra has confirmed it will allow customers to buy the iPhone 4 on 12 month contracts.

We got the following info from Telstra Mobile PR Peter Symons when we asked whether Telstra would allow customers to purchase the iPhone 4 on a 12 month contract -- after all, with a new iPhone coming out every year, why lock yourself in for two years?
Yes, Telstra customers can purchase iPhone 4 on one of our plans and pay the handset off over 12 months. There is no handset subsidy associated with this option.

For example:

  • Customers can purchase the 16GB iPhone 4 on the $79 plan over 12 months with monthly repayments of $151 ($79 + $72)
  • Customers can purchase the 32GB iPhone 4 on the $79 plan over 12 months with monthly repayments of $163 each month ($79 + $84)
Alternatively, iPhone 4 will be available to purchase outright for existing Telstra customers:

16GB -- RRP $864
32GB -- RRP $1008

actually you arent taking into consideration the $20 mro credit on a $49 or $79 cap or the $30 mro credit on the $99.
So it would be $101 with $400 of calls, 500mb data and a 16gb iphone
