Lenovo notebook now comes in a color other than black.

Lenovo notebooks have never been accused of being cool or sexy. The company has gone outside the plain black design of its notebooks a bit in its netbook line with machines like the IdeaPad S12, but its notebooks have been rather plain. Lenovo has announced its latest notebook called the ThinkPad Edge that brings new tech to market along with a bright red color.

The ThinkPad Edge will be offered in 13-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch models and are aimed at small and medium size business customers. The 13-inch version is the first ThinkPad laptop to use AMD dual-core processors as well as being the first to offer AMD Vision Pro technology. The machines also come in color choices and have a new contemporary keyboard design.

Lenovo offers the notebooks with AMD Turion and Athlon Neo dual-core processors or Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processors. Intel standard dual core processors are also available. The machines are optimized for Windows 7 and Lenovo promises an optimistic battery life of over 8 hours. Connectivity features include WiFi and optional Bluetooth, 3G, and WiMax service. The machines will ship first in the U.S. with the 13-inch version starting at $US549 ($601). The 15-inch and 14-inch versions will debut in Q2.
