Vodafone will release RIM's upgraded Storm 2 smartphone this Thursday on a $69 cap plan with $450 of national and international calls.

Vodafone will launch the upgraded BlackBerry Storm 2 this Thursday as one of its 'hero' products as part of a revamp of the carrier’s capped plans.

The touchscreen smartphone will be offered on a $69 cap with $450 of calls – and that value is now applied to international calls made from Australia, as well as national calls within Australia. The plan also allows for unlimited calls to other Vodafone customers plus 500MB of data.

VHA has also announced two SIM-only month-by-month plans for BlackBerry users who are happy with their existing handset. $35 gets you $350 of talk and text, unlimited BlackBerry email and Web plus 250MB of data; $55 bumps this up to 500MB of data, $500 of calls and unlimited national and international SMS.

Both plans also allow unlimited Vodafone-to-Vodafone customers and the call allowances include overseas as well as Australian calls.

Hey you might wanna check that "tethering" insert there... I believe Vodafone web access only allows you to use the blackberry browser, tethering in not part of that "free internet" and is charged accordingly.
otherwise.. it's planned perfectly with the release of BESX today, and it's free licencing options...
