Silverstone TJ10: When case construction quality counts

SilverStone are best known around the APC Labs for their excellent HTPC enclosures, and the TJ10 is one of the first full-size cases we’ve seen from the Taiwan-based company.

The TJ10 is a pretty hefty case, made in a similar style to Lian Li chassis — plentiful use of brushed aluminium, clean lines and a very high standard of construction.

The TJ10 would suit seriously cashed-up gamers or video editors — there’s loads of room to build a seriously powerful workstation in this beauty. The case supports Extended ATX for large motherboards, plus it’s designed with clearance for even the longest graphics cards (we’re looking at you, 2900XTX). The good news is that even though it gives a cool and clean experience, there’s plenty of cooling nous going on inside for motherboards and graphics cards. It doesn’t appear as though the hard disk drives have any active cooling, though there is space around them for some air flow. So keep that in mind if you’re building something with very hot drives (eg. SAS).

The door of the chassis is aluminium and firmly attached, while USB, FireWire and audio front outputs are on the top of the case. If it’s under a desk, they might be a bit of a reach.
